Working with wood is another of my professions, I can build custom decks, and fences in almost any terrain.
These two wonderful cedar fences were custom built from scratch for a local home and turned out beautifully! I also built all the gates from scratch with very tight tolerances so they open and close very smooth.
This deck was built on top of a concrete slab, I anchored all of the pressure treated stringers to the concrete so it has no movement and the boards will stay nice tight. The top boards were Gapped and fastened to the stringers, there are zero squeaks, squeals, or saggy spots.
These next two decks were stacked on top of each other so the first thing I did was install a support beam and anchor it to the concrete.
I then built a frame and stringers across the concrete slab that was warped and cracked and anchored it after I leveled it out with a slight grade for water to run off.
The top boards are 2×12 pressure treated and were gapped properly which gives it an industrial stage appearance.
On the top deck I removed the boards and butted them up against each other so there was no gap, and I made the preexisting handrail up to code using a couple different variety of boards. Once all that was completed I stained the wood for a lasting finish and placed astro-turf on the top deck which contrasts very well with the color of the wood rail.
One day I decided that a shed was going to go between three trees in my backyard so I drew up some plans and built it! Its very nice too, stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. it is very well sealed and has a large CFM fan for when I paint. it is structurally sound as I usually have upwards of 2k pounds stored inside it on the elevated frame. I also custom made the large door which swings wide and smooth.
